Greetings to all of you, let's start a new travel story! This time, I would like to share the special places and experiences I found in the suburbs of Seoul.
# Jaein Falls
Unlike other waterfalls, Jaein Falls is one of Yeoncheon's representative tourist attractions, created when flat land collapsed and created a large gorge. The cool water, the stagnant blue lake below, and the columnar joint cliffs create a spectacular view. In particular, you can capture the waterfall at a glance from the top of the suspension bridge or from the observatory. Enjoy the beautiful scenery while listening to the cool sound of the water flowing.
# Serabi Hanok Cafe
Serabi Hanok Cafe is a charming hanok cafe with 1,800 crockery stands lined up on both sides from the entrance. The scenery that can be seen from each space is diverse, so you can relax anywhere indoors or outdoors. In addition, there is a foot bath area, so if you order one menu per person, you can use the foot bath for free. Enjoy a glass of beverage with a foot bath while gazing at the tranquil scenery.
# Paleolithic Festival
The Yeoncheon Jeongok-ri site is a Paleolithic site in Korea where a hand ax was discovered. From May 4th to 7th, the Paleolithic Festival was held here to learn and experience the Paleolithic culture and prehistoric culture under the theme of 'The preciousness of Jeongokrians'. Various programs were held, such as the Jeongokrian Dressing Room, where you can wear Paleolithic costumes, and the Paleolithic Olympics, where you can experience 6 sports.
# Tomb of King Gyeongsun
The Royal Tomb of King Gyeongsun is the tomb of King Gyeongsun, the 56th and last king of Silla, and is the only royal tomb of Silla outside Gyeongju, the capital of Silla. Compared to the huge royal tombs of Silla, it is small in size, but it has a unique shape with a fence around the tomb. Next to the tomb is Jaesil, a space for preparing ancestral rites, and King Gyeongsun's tombstone, where descendants hold ancestral rites every spring and fall.
# Gorangpogu Historical Park
Gorangpogu Port has been a strategic point since the Three Kingdoms period and a ferry that has played a central role in the exchange of goods through the Imjin River. It was a place that prospered to the extent that a branch of Hwashin Department Store was located in the 1930s through the exchange of goods between Gaeseong and Hanseong. Inside the Gorangpogu Historical Park Exhibition Hall, the Gorangpogu Market Street at the time is reproduced, so you can feel as if you are back in those days. In addition, visit this place where you can learn history and information through interesting experiences such as shooting experience and playground for the five senses.
